Short and Sweet for Now

Hello my dear friends! I am so glad you have stopped in and are interested in my journey toward Haiti. That consists of a two part thing right now. In October, I hope/plan to join a team in visiting our sister church in Haiti, where we sponsor children in a school, funding a literacy project. It will be a full-circle thing for me, because my first trip to Haiti was in 2002, and since then we have helped the church to complete their building, and essentially revamp the economy of their entire community. It is truly amazing to see what all God has done since we were first acquainted with them, and were able to start helping the little community of Tiburon in the south of Haiti. So we are taking gifts for the school children, the young adults, and other church members, so that we can encourage them and leave them with something that will continue to remind them throughout the year that they are not forgotten by us or by God. More on this will be coming in another blog very soon, but I hope that even now you will begin to pray for us and the church in Haiti, and that you will bookmark this site and keep checking back for more info and prayer requests as we get ready to go in October.
Part two of going to Haiti is this:
Eventually, once I am able to get teacher-certified, I plan to teach elementary aged missionary children in Haiti, in a small school in Les Cayes. I say eventually, because to get certified, you have to get a job with one of the counties. So I cannot have an idea of the date I will be certified until I have a job with a county. So please pray for and with me, that the teaching job will open up, so that I can begin the certification process. I plan to substitute teach until all my application paperwork is in order with the state, and then I can pursue a certified teaching position. So pray that it works toward completion, and that God would provide a job once it all comes together!
